KNUA Dance Company's Invitation (The Korean National University of Arts, School of Dance)
The Korea's foremost dance company, Korea National University of Arts (KNUA) Dance Company will present an evening of four diverse dance works at the John Jay's Gerald W. Lynch Theater on Nov. 19 and at the PepsiCo Theater of SUNY at Purchase on Nov. 20.

The program includes four repertory works, featuring two works, choreographed by current faculty of dance department: Seung Hee Chung, Mina Yoo.

Ms. Chung's "Come, oh Crane" is a Korean Traditional Dance piece, which investigates human nostalgia towards a peaceful and harmonious world, where cranes and hermits once lived together. This symbolic dance depicts religious rites of men welcoming cranes to their land and dancing together. A contemporary dance work, "Active Zone 2005" by Ms. Yoo is a journey into a discovery of the dancer's bodily perspectives, consciousness and physical thresholds. In addition, two classical ballet pieces, "Allegro Brilliant" choreographed by George Balanchine, and "La Esmeralda" choreographed by Nicholas Beriosoff are performed in the program.
